Our printed silver labels are made from a proper 70-micron satin silver vinyl, not a paper imitation, so the metallic surface runs right through the material. The satin finish gives a smooth, low-glare shimmer that reads as more refined than high-gloss - a favourite for premium branding, cosmetics and craft spirits.
These metallic silver labels are water resistant, UV resistant and hold up outdoors as well as in. Printed with scratch-resistant eco-solvent inks, they won’t smudge or fade in a hurry, and the permanent adhesive grips smooth surfaces like glass jars, bottles and product containers.
Because the CMYK inks are slightly translucent, you can print straight onto the silver for a subtle metallic tint, or add a white under-base so colours come out as vibrant as they would on paper. By approving your proof you accept the following. Colour is reproduced as accurately as possible but cannot be guaranteed to match your screen, a printed sample or a previous order exactly. Differences between rich (full-colour) black and single black, colours sitting near the edge of the CMYK gamut, fine tints and slight variation between materials, finishes and print batches are a normal part of the printing process and may not be visible on your on-screen proof. These are considered within standard commercial print tolerance and are not classed as a fault. Where any question of print quality arises, StickyThings is the final arbiter of whether a job has printed correctly.
Frequently asked questions
Are silver satin labels waterproof?
Yes. They’re printed on satin silver vinyl with eco-solvent inks, so they’re water resistant, UV resistant and scratch resistant. They wipe clean and stay intact indoors or outdoors, with around four years of external weathering.
What’s the difference between satin and polished silver?
Satin silver has a smooth, soft-sheen metallic surface for an understated, high-class look. Our polished silver material is far more reflective and shiny. If you’re unsure which suits your product, order a free sample of each first.
Will my printed colours look metallic?
That’s your choice. Our CMYK inks are slightly translucent, so printed straight onto the silver they pick up a metallic tint but look a little duller. Add a white under-base and the colours print as vibrant as they would on paper, with the silver showing through unprinted areas.
What surfaces does the adhesive suit?
These labels come with a permanent adhesive only, which grips smooth surfaces well - glass jars, bottles and product containers. It bonds strongly and isn’t designed to be peeled off and reused.
Are they supplied on sheets or cut individually?
As standard they come on approximately A4 sheets. We can cut them individually for a small fee if you’d prefer - just let us know when you order. Minimum order is a single label.
